The DB Rule

Since I've been out of work with the strike we've adopted the DB rule in our house. It's kind of like the DH rule in baseball. For those who don't know, in baseball's American League there is what is known as a Designated Hitter. Unlike in the National League, American League pitchers don't play offense- i.e. go to bat. Instead there is a player called the Designated Hitter- who's only job is to hit. Well in our house I like to think of Theo's Mom as the pitcher. She is a very important player who is involved with most phases of the game. But there is one job that has been designated to me- bathing. For the first 4 months of his life I've given Theo 95% of his baths. I really enjoy that time we spend together before bedtime. We've really had a chance to bond. Mom really likes it too- it gives her a well-deserved break at night. So, everyone already knows me as Theo's Dad. Now you can also think of me as the Designated Bather.
